In this exhibition, Irene López de Castro brings together her latest works, created to visualize peace in Mali, a country with which this artist has had a close relationship for 30 years.
The River of Life shows us the African beauty of Mali through the Memories of the Niger River, fruit of the numerous trips made since 1989 by this Spanish painter. In love with the Sahel, Irene has dedicated her life as an artist to reflect the best side of those places and their people creating a pictorial universe that has been taken beyond our borders: Italy, France, Korea and Mali.
This exhibition of Casa de Vacas brings together about fifty works; paintings, drawings and prints, showing the public several artistic techniques, among them, and for the first time, the artist shows the result of the fusion of of her own mixed media technique (based on textures, lands and handmade acrylic paint), with the African technique of mud painting know as “Bogolán”, to which she was initiated in 1990 by Annick Turner and Kandioura Coulibaly (deceased), former President of the Groupe Bogolan Kasobane.
